Nombre de racines d'une fonction

Coucou!

J'ai un petit problème de maths à résoudre.
Je dois trouver combien de racines possède la fonction f

\(f(x)=ln(1+|x|)+\frac{1}{1-x}\)

Mais je ne sais pas trop comment m'y prendre. Pouvez m'aider?

Trouver les racines d'une fonction signifie trouver les zéros de la fonction. Sais-tu ce que cela signifie?

Je crois que ça veut dire qu'il faut trouver les x qui annulent la fonction f
\(f(x)=0\)

Oui, c'est bien ça!

Etant donné que la fonction n'est pas définie en \(x=1\), regarde ce qui se passe si \(x<1\). Essaye de trouver combien de fois la fonction s'annule.

Puis ensuite regarde avec \(x>1\).

J'ai trouvé que pour x<1 la fonction f est toujours positive et donc elle s'annule jamais. C'est ça?

Je ne sais pas trop pour x>1.

J'ai trouvé que la dérivée était toujours strictement positive pour x>1 et donc la fonction f est strictement croissante. Comme la limite de f quand x tend vers 1 est -infini et f(2)>0, on en conclut que la f possède une seule racine et elle se trouve entre x=1 et x=2.
