Hi!

I just saw a few negative sentences in French omitting the "ne".

Je veux pas...
Je peux pas...

Is that common?

Hi rob38 and welcome!

Indeed, when we speak, we tend to omit the "ne" in negative sentences. But it is grammatically incorrect. It should always be written down even if it is not systematically pronounced.
However, we do not always write it in colloquial language, for example when we send emails or text messages to friends.
